Future generations will need support to access opportunities and realize their true potential. They will need education to utilize new technologies, and the financial knowledge to create lasting wealth. We have come a long way as a Tribe, but we are facing new and complex challenges that will impact future generations. It would be an honor to have your consideration for the Brighton/Tampa Council Representative.

“The original concept was to try to keep the identity of the reservations intact, each is unique,” Smith said. “We certainly wouldn’t put a cookie-cutter development in the middle of the community, so we are taking initial design and overall ideas to the communities for their feedback.” Seminole Tribune
Housing Director Derrick Smith explained good financial management so they can eventually get a home loan. He suggested they save at least 10 percent of their income. “The more you save, the better you will be set up for the long term,” he said. “And be careful with credit card debt.” Seminole Tribune
"The first-of-its-kind seminar took place March 1 at the Native Learning Center in Hollywood. It was organized by Derrick Smith, senior director of operations in the Chairman’s office. Smith said the main reason for the event was simply to promote the growth of Tribal businesses." Seminole Tribune
